A "Hello" wave

Something as simple as helping bring a smile to another persons face is something I strive for every day.  Today it was something simple.  A lady at Wal-Mart was waiting by the front, obviously looking far past me as I was walking in.  She started waving to let whoever she was with know she was ready and waiting.  As she waved I smiled ear to ear and waved back at her as excited as I could.  When she saw that I had eyes on her she burst out laughing and started to explain "No, I was... Ok you know, that was very funny!"  That was perfect in my eyes.  With a quick "have a great day" we parted ways.

So small. So simple. Such a big laugh & smile from the heart.

I have no idea who this woman was but to hear her still giggling as the automatic doors closed behind me was icing on the cake.

Hello All!

Thanks so much for stopping in the check out our new blog, Heartfelt Living :)

My husband, Joey, and I have really upped our desire to live a healthier life.  To me Heartfelt Living is about several different things.  It's about who we are, how we treat ourselves (nutritionally and emotionally), the way we talk to others, and the outlook we have on life.  Living with a conscious is something a lot of people may not do or realize that they ARE doing. I'm not saying that I don't ever upset someone or that I'm some sort of a role model, but I do think that taking 1 second to grab the shopping cart from someone as you are walking past, picking up something someone dropped, flashing a random smile just because you can, or saying "Bless you" when someone sneezes can make a difference.  I've had others do it to me and there are times it's changed my entire day and made it better.  I like to do those things from my heart to others because maybe it will change theirs as well and maybe, just maybe, some of the small selfless acts will rub off on our kids.  Joey thinks I'm crazy sometimes but him being so reserved and me being a little wacky somehow keeps us both balanced.

So who are we? Well, Joey and I were High School sweethearts, married in August, 2007 and had our baby girl, Penelope (PJ) in September, 2010, our son Lukas (Lu) in 2013 and are expecting our third baby this January.  We are polar opposites!  To be honest, I'm not sure how we manage sometimes.  At dinner if I think something is delicious it's almost a guarantee that he will think it's barely edible.  I LOVE to try new things and he'll sit back and see how it goes for me before giving it a shot himself.  I have to admit that Joey has grown a TON in the past few years with things he'll try. He's more adventurous with food choices now and sometimes even more silly than I am. Since I started my journey with better nutrition and he's seen the improvements in my health he is now more open to listening to me and giving it a shot instead of just grabbing a bottle of Tylenol or ibuprofen (YUCK).  I'm still working on him for certain things but then again I have trouble when it comes to using a drill.  I try, I really do, but I almost always end up punching the tip into the drywall and damaging it or hurting myself.  I swear I was a lot more handy before we got married and then once that ring came on the handy part of me said goodbye!  Poor Joey (haha!) right?!  We are all a constant work in progress and I'll be the first to admit that though I try, I sometimes miss the mark but at least I gave it a shot.

That's what I wanted to share with you in this blog. The ups and downs we all face, health tips (I'm sure I'll learn a lot from you too) and anything else that comes to mind.  I thought I could use a place to hold myself accountable get some things off my chest. What better place to do it than to broadcast it to anyone who can read and is on the internet... yikes!
